Description

The Agricultural Economics Research Institute, which was in existence from 1928 until 1944, became the Institute for Research into Agricultural Economics and then the Institute of Agricultural Economics, before being amalgamated with the Institute of Commonwealth Studies and Queen Elizabeth House to form the Oxford Department of International Development in 1986.

The building in which it was housed, on the west side of Parks Road, is now home to the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division. The three north bays of the front are early 19th century in date but the rest was built to match in 1913 by Percy Morley Horder.
