Description

This print is mounted on the same card as OP32899 and OP32900.

The image is entitled 'The Twin Steamer, Dover'.

The Calais-Douvres, built around 1877-8, was the third of three vessels built to try and minimise sea sickness for passengers on cross-channel services in the late nineteenth century. Unfortunately, due to slow speeds and high running costs, the ship was removed from service in 1887.
