The original caption reads: "South Bank Exhibition, Festival of Britain. The facade of the Power and Production Pavilion, with a rim of the Dome of Discovery sweeping to the right."

The Power and Production Pavilion was designed by George Grenfell-Baines and H J Reifenberg in the style of a modern factory. Inside, the displays told the story of British industry, from raw materials to finished products. It also included information on scientific research and industrial design.
