The original caption reads: "Restaurant Competition. Festival of Britain 1951, Leonard Manasseh, A.R.I.B.A., A.A.Dip., winner of the First Prize."

Manasseh won the competition to design a luxury restaurant for the Festival of Britain with his design for the '51 Bar. Winning the competition was considered to be Manasseh's 'breakthrough', after which he established an architectural practice known as Leonard Manasseh and Partners.
