The original caption reads: "Exterior view of the Telekinema. Architect: Wells Coates, O.B.E."

The Telecinema or Telekinema was a 400-seat cinema designed to screen 35mm film, stereoscopic and stereophonic film, and television broadcasts. It was operated by the British Film Institute and, after the Festival had finished, reopened as the National Film Theatre in October 1952. It was demolished in 1957.
