Description

The original caption reads: "In the Lion and the Unicorn Pavilion, The Royal Arms and, at the far end, the Freedom Wall with lettering cut by Barry Hart, south Bank Exhibition, Festival of Britain 1951."

The Pavilion was intended to display "British character and tradition". On the ground floor were exhibits on the subject of British freedoms. In the background was 'The Freedoms', a mural by Kenneth Rowntree.
