Description

This initial phase of the Oakridge development was built in the early 1950s, primarily to house employees of the nearby Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Aldermaston. The photograph shows shuttering (marked 'House Set No 169), which forms a termporary support into which concrete is poured to form the walls of the building.
