Description

William de Warenne and his wife Gundrada died at the end of the 11th century. Their burial cists were discovered in 1845 during the construction of the Lewes-Brighton Railway line. An extension, in the form of a neo-Norman chapel, was then built at St John the Baptist's Church in 1847 to house the tombs. The chapel is located at the east end of the south aisle.

On the back of the postcard 'out of album' is written.
