The building just to the north of Bristol Bridge was formerly St Nicholas' Church (now council offices), and the tower and steeple visible at the north end of High Street are part of Christ Church with St Ewan.
There are a number of hoardings visible on the buildings in this photograph, including adverts for the Bristol Hippodrome, Soako washing powder and Boots chemists.
PC41473 shows the same view but the photograph was taken at an earlier date.
