Description

Number 80 was an old timber framed house with a Georgian frontage and Victorian shopfront. It was demolished in 1974 as part of a scheme to create a new library. This eventually came about as part of the final element of the comprehensive redevelopment of an area of land between the High Street and Oldbury Road to the east. To the right in this photograph is the car park at the front of the Sabrina Cinema, formerly occupied by numbers 81 and 82 High Street.
