Description

Information relating to the creation of a computerised wreck database. Contains: correspondence and journal articles calling for and suggesting methods for a centralised computer database of wrecks in UK waters. File also contains printouts of a database from 1983 and the National Archaeology Record in 1987 and a map of the UK. Feedback on the 'Heritage at Sea' report and the report on the pilot National Archaeology Record Maritime Study by Alison Gale are included. Specific case studies for the development of maritime archaeological records for Kent, the Isle of Wight and Yorkshire coast and Humber Estuary are included as well.
