An album of 128 pages containing 144 photographs. The photographs are a mixed set, mostly general views of the stones but there are also photographic jobs showing: the taking of a plaster cast of the stones using a latex matrix; a model of the proposed lifting of trilithon 57/58; the machinery to be used in this operation; the new ticket office and excavations for new toilets and the suggested source of the Stonehenge sarsens on the Marlborough Downs.
The majority of the photographs date from the late 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s. There are also earlier prints including some taken from negatives used to produce postcards and a copy of a photograph taken circa 1870.
There are also photographic jobs taken on Marlborough Downs and Boscombe Down Airfield. There is one view of the Custodians Cottage, the two cottages on the A303 to the east of the site which are now known as Stonehenge Cottages.
