Description

An album of 21 pages containing 37 black and white prints.

Thetford Warren Lodge was a medieval warrener's house and possible hunting lodge belonging to the priory that was later extended in the post medieval period, although it remained a warrener's house and later a farmhouse. These extensions are shown in the first print (a copy of an earlier photograph) but burnt down in 1935.

The remainder of the album shows the house in its ruined state after the fire, with only the medieval part standing to any height. The site is shown as it was when in came into guardianship and during and after consolidation work carried out in 1948 - 1952.
