Description

An album of 53 pages containing 52 black and white prints and one plan. The album is divided into sections showing different parts of the wall. Each section contains a mix of general and detailed views. The sections include the group on Tower Hill, (On Tower Hill Road, Trinity Place, Trinity Crescent and Coopers Row) and a section on Noble Street where the south west corner of the fort meets the new wall. Some of the sections labelled as 'Tower Hill' or 'Trinity Place' could in fact show other, adjacent, parts of the wall; this is indicated at item level. The photographs come from a variety of sources including the Guildhall Museum, Ministry of Works and professional photographers. There is a set showing the underpinning of a section of wall, over the track of the new Tower Hill underground station, these were taken for London Transport by various firms of photographers.
