Description

The 'Melton House of Industry' was acquired by the County of Suffolk in 1827 and became the 'Suffolk County Asylum', later 'Suffolk District Asylum'. In 1917 it became 'St Audry's Hospital for Mental Diseases'. It closed as St Audry's Hospital in 1993.
