A file of material created by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, recording the historical monuments in the former parish of Rainham, which was abolished in 1934 when it became part of Hornchurch Urban District. Upon the abolition of the urban district, the area was combined with the Municipal Borough of Romford, and subsequently became part of the London Borough of Havering.
