Description

A series of 8 negatives taken for the Ministry of Works showing progress on the construction of Forestry Houses, a group of 10 semi-detached homes designed to house forestry workers. The Ministry of Works was the Government department tasked under the 'Temporary Housing Act 1944/1945' with alleviating the acute housing shortages in the immediate postwar years. The original Ministry of Works storage envelope lists the operator as “K”.
