Six black and white negatives taken by the Ministry of Works for the War Damage Commission to show damage caused at 66-68 The Chase, Clapham. Neighbouring properties are also shown. The negatives are all exterior views. The War Damage Commission was a body established by the British Government in 1941 to pay compensation for war damage to land, buildings and machinery.
The Ministry of Work was the Government department tasked by the 'Temporary Housing Act 1944/45' with alleviating the acute housing shortages in the immediate postwar years.
All eight of the negatives were catalogued in 2022.
