Pendragon Castle: archaeological survey report

Author(s): Mark Bowden, Amy Lax

In November 1993 RCHME undertook an archaeological investigation and analytical field survey of Pendragon Castle as part of the Howgill Fells Project. The tower house itself with its surrounding ringwork, ancillary building remains, tracks and a pond were recorded. The survey also identified the remains of a possible prospect mount of early post-medieval date opposite the castle on the west bank of the River Eden.
