TREE-RING ANALYSIS OF TIMBERS FROM THE FOUNDRY SITE, POOLE, DORSET.

Author(s): J Hillam

Identification and analysis of seventeen samples from the medieval boat timbers found at the Foundry site revealed that oak and elm had been used to produce the timbers. All the timbers had come from relatively young trees with the result that the samples had less than 60 rings. No dating was obtained.
