Wark-on-Tweed Castle, Northumberland: archaeological survey report

Author(s): Mark Bowden

Wark Castle was surveyed by RCHME in 1992 at the request of Northumberland County Council who were intending to undertake some remedial work on the castle mound and Middle Ward, and in advance of proposed communications infrastructure works. The mound, which represents "the Ring" (the sixteenth-century Inner Ward), and part of the Middle Ward were surveyed at 1:500 and the whole area of the castle at 1:1000 (measured sketch survey based on the OS 1:2500 map).
