Description

A print of this image is in the RCHME Inventory Notes for Milton Abbas, Abbey Church, Dorset III. This image is printed in the RCHME Inventory volume, County of Dorset, Volume Three Central, Part 2. The altar has three shields within a quatrefoil pattern along the front. The shields represent Athelstan, Abbot William, IHS and the arms of Damer. The altar is carved to look like it has a cloth over it with crease marks and tassles. It was formerly positioned in the presbytery.
