Description

The Millbank Estate was built between 1897-1902 and is one of the first and most significant of the London County Council estates. It was designed by the Architects' Department, Housing Section, under Owen Fleming in an Arts and Crafts style. The estate was designed to provide high standard accommodation for London's working classes, based on socialist and philanthropic principals. Ruskin House suffered bomb damage during WW2.
