Description

Two black and white negatives taken for the Ministry of Works showing exterior views of houses at Knox Close, built by Norwich Prison Commission to house employees of the prison.

The Ministry of Works was the Government department tasked under the 'Temporary Housing Act 1944/45' with alleviating the acute housing shortages in the immediate postwar years.

Only one of the negatives was catalogued in detail in 2022.
