Research Results

For information on the very latest projects and resulting research findings published by Historic England, see Current Research.

Details of slightly older research results can be viewed under Recent Research. You can also find out about current and commissioned projects in our e-magazine, Historic England Research.

For research on archaeological sites, historic buildings and landscapes, see our Research Reports' database, which contains over 6,500 Research Reports, available as free downloads, with new reports being added on a regular basis.

Digital records of excavations, post-excavation analyses and finds are available both online and as physical records at our archive in Swindon or through our Archaeological Archives and Specialist Collections at Fort Cumberland. The latter holds a number of important archaeological and research reference collections.
