Stanmer Park, Ditchling / Falmer / Westmeston, Brighton and Hove, City of (UA), Lewes - South Downs (NP) / Brighton and Hove, City of (UA) / Lewes

Undulating C18 landscape park and downland agricultural estate on city fringe surrounding a country house and incorporating Stanmer village. Bought by the Council (1947) for public amenity, the parkland fabric is highly fragmented by A27 with further housing development being constructed. Building upon successful improvements completed to the parkland core the 2023 City Downland Estate Plan envisions Stanmer as gateway to the South Downs within an ambitious carbon neutral target. Planning of future woodland management and Highways England Designated Funds access improvements being undertaken.
