Packhorse Bridge about 50 metres west of Lyncombe, Winsford, West Somerset - Exmoor (NP)

Packhorse Bridge. C17-C18, possibly earlier. Lias. Dry stone flat bedded rubble; single span, pointed arch; rubble voussoirs; curved abutments; parapet of undressed stone set on end, ramped up to centre. Hump-backed bridge with remains of pebble pathway. A recent condition survey has identified loss or covering of cobble pathway, partial loss of parapet and extensive plant growth including ivy and large saplings rooting into fabric.
