Southwark Municipal Offices and attached railings, Walworth Road SE17 - Southwark

Built as a vestry hall circa 1863-64, then later used as a town hall and more recently as municipal offices for Southwark Council. The building was severely damaged by fire in 2013. It was then stabilised and remedial works undertaken, including construction of a new roof and provision of temporary roofing elsewhere. New leaseholders have now taken possession of the building and have secured Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for conversion of the building into community centre, start-up office space and café. Works on site are at an advanced stage.
