Cinema, built as the Gaumont 1937-8, architect C Howard Crane of Chicago. The cinema has been in poor general condition, with cracking and damage to faience decoration. Inappropriate modern shop fronts in poor condition have undermined the design aesthetic. However, major upgrading works are at an advanced stage.
