Llwyd Mansion, 1 and 3, Cross Street, Oswestry - Shropshire (UA)
This C16 timber frame building was originally four bays long and is thought to have consisted of four separate units, the ground and first floors of each bay forming a two-storey shop with an open solar above. Remodelled as Llwyd Mansion in 1604, it has subsequently been altered on several occasions, including the insertion of a ground floor mezzanine: the end bay was truncated when Bailey Street was widened in the late C19. The building was last used as a shop and is currently vacant. It is in the process of being acquired by Oswestry Town Council, but a new use is still to be agreed.
