Description

The collection comprises photographs, moving film, publications and records of the Civic Trust from its establishment in 1957until 2008. The images in the collection show primarily town centres in the UK and the impact of traffic, development and street furniture upon them. The records relate to the grant of Civic Trust awards, and the Trust's contribution to planning policy and education. The publications comprise the newsletters of local Civic Trust societies and limited run publications describing the historical significance of the towns that they represented. The collection also contains a large quantity of publicity material associated to the Trust and its campaigns.
