Description

Image taken circa 1920. The west elevation of the house contains the entrance, set within the central bay. A double-arm staircase ascends fro the garden to the double door underneath a round-headed arch. Splayed ionic columns flank either side and support a frieze reading "HORA E SEMPRE", the Fermor motto. The Fermor family coat of arms is above the inscription, in a semi-circular pediment. The roof of the building has a low wall with arcading, acorn-shaped finials and two sculptures of lions, walking towards the central bay. The northen wing was once part of a pair that formed a forecourt where the garden currently is.
