3 houses each with a forward-facing gable. c1840. Painted render to the front; rubblestone, tile-hung to the upper storeys of the rear; shallow-pitched slate roofs, bracketed to the front, with brick stacks to the valleys and end slopes. Double-depth plans with late C19 additions to the rear. Unusual Picturesque style with gabled villa-type facades. 2 storeys with attics; each house symmetrical 2-window range. 8/8-pane sash windows to the first floor, 10/10-panes to the ground floor, various small windows to the attics and two C20 windows to the first floor of the central house; the windows of Gowrie are late C20 replacements. Trellised pedimented porches over studded doors. Small set-back painted rubblestone ranges with late C19 windows to far left and right. INTERIORS not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a rubblestone outhouse and high rear garden walls enclose the back gardens.
