SS9746 THE ESPLANADE 900-1/3/151 (South side) 07/09/93 Goods shed to north-east of Railway Station

GV II

Goods shed. 1872 for the Minehead Railway Company. Red sandstone rubble with freestone dressings; corrugated asbestos roof. Rectangular plan. One storey. 5-window west elevation facing station with semicircular brick arches over 9-pane windows. Segmental brick arch over plank double doors to centre of south elevation. Similar double doors to each gable end. INTERIOR has softwood trusses. A well-preserved goods shed of the period, making a good group with the station building (qv).
