MORCHARD BISHOP FORE STREET (north-east side) SS 7607 - 7707 11/158 Morchard Bishop - 26.8.65 No. 13 GV II

Cottage. Probably early C19. Plastered cob on rubble footings, rubble and brick stack; thatched roof. Small 1 room plan cottage facing south-west adjoining 12 Fore Street (q.v.) to right and forming north-western end of a row of adjoining cottages.

Rear diagonal corner stack. 2 storeys. 2-window front with late C19 - early C20 casements with glazing bars to first floor and C20 casement to ground floor, left of plank door. Roof hipped to right. Interior not inspected. Cottage is end one of a row of 13 cottages which together form the longest continuous run of thatch-roofed buildings in Devon, and probably the longest run in England.
