Detached cottage with attached forge early Cl8 but possibly with an earlier core.

Forge is C19. Rendered and colourwashed with some colourwashed brick and some weatherboarding. Thatched roof with end brick stack right. Forge to the south and corrugated asbestos roofed extension to the north. Main facade faces away from the road. One and a half storeys, irregular fenestration. Garden facade has 2 4-light casements with horizontal glazing bars over 3 2-light casements.

C20 glazed door in glazed porch to right of centre. Road facade has a central 3-light casement with glazing bars and a 2-light casement with cast-iron glazing bars right. Small dormer over. Early AA plaque on wall to left.

Internal features (RCHM): 2 chamfered beams. (RCHM, Dorset, vol.IV, p.95, no.10)
