GV II

Raised cobbled surfaces; 1829-30; sloping between pavement and road; approximately 1-2m wide. On east side commencing opposite No.14 and extending southward to No.32. The verges were created and subsequently cobbled as part of the gradient improvement works carried out following the advice of Thomas Telford in 1829. (Ludlow Research Paper No.3: Lloyd D: Broad Street - its houses and residents through eight centuries: 1979-: P.15 & 16).
