HANLEY CASTLE CP QUAY LANE SO 84 SW (south side) 3/154 Quay Lane Farmhouse GV II

House. C17, with possible earlier remains. Timber-framing, mostly cased in brick with tile roof. 2 storeys. South wall has 2 large projecting chimney stacks with one bay at the left and one at the right. Windows are C20 casements.

Door adjoining right-hand ground floor window, with second doorway between chimneys. Roof half-hipped at left. The right-hand gable wall has some framing exposed on the first floor, and a truss with vertical struts between tie-beam and collar and V-struts above. The left-hand gable wall, facing west, has irregular square-panelled framing which incorporates jowled posts and a tie-beam from an adjoining building which has been demolished. Interior not inspected.
