SK 13 SE PARISH OF SUDBURY SCHOOL LANE 3/67 (West Side) Butchers House and shop and 13.9.67 No. 10 (formerly listed as four houses including 10 School Lane) GV II

Terrace of two cottages and shop. Early C19 and c1875 probably by George Devey.

Red brick with blue brick diaper work. Plain tile roofs with four brick ridge stacks and one gable stack. Brick coped gables with plain kneelers. Two storeys.

T-plan with a long range to School Lane and short range to Main Road. East elevation of eight bays. Off-centre shop front, c1875, timber framed, with central doorway with moulded arch and stable type doors, flanked by glazing bar sashes.

Hinged shutters with small heart shaped holes. Above the shop front a deeply coved cornice with hipped tiled roof. To the right a doorway with casements on either side and panelled door, flanked on each side by glazing bar sashes. To the left of the shop front, two 3-light casement windows under segment heads, a doorway with segment head and plank door, and a cart entrance with timber lintel. The first floor has four 3-light casements and three 2-light casements, the latter over the shop front, all with flat arches. The ground floor of the left hand part is early C19 brickwork. Three bay north elevation to Main Road has off-centre doorway with round arch and moulded stone surround. Panelled door. To the left a 2-light wooden casement with flush stone surround, and to the right two similar windows.

Three 2-light half dormers above with hipped roofs.
