WISBECH MARKET STREET TF 4609 (East Side) 6/113 Nos. 1 and 2 GV II

Shops, early C19. Local brown brick, plain tile mansard roofs.

Two storeys and attics. Four, casement dormer windows. Seven, twelve-paned recessed hung sash windows with cambered gauged brick arches and stone cills. No. 1, modern shop at ground floor; No. 2, late C19 architraved shop windows and glazed door with rectangular fanlight; house door to right hand, four-panelled with rectangular fanlight, plain pilasters and entablature. The buildings in Market Street form an important link between the Castle Estate and the Market Place. The land for the street was purchased by Joseph Medworth and the street appears on his development plan.
