LUTTERWORTH GILMORTON ROAD SP 54 84 9/10001 Police Station, Superintendents House and Magistrate's Court II Police station, superintendents house and magistrate's court. 1842 with early C20 additions to rear, possibly by S P Pick (County Architect).

Police station: red brick with black brick band. Wooden eaves cornice to hipped slate roof with end stack to left and stack to rear to right. Shallow central projection carrying triangular pediment. Two storeys with rusticated quoins to centre and ends. Regular three window front, glazing bar sashes in raised surrounds with segment heads and key blocks on first floor; segment-headed windows in segment-headed recesses on ground floor, also with key blocks. Narrow segment-headed glazing bar sashes flanking segment-headed central door surround with key block and plain door.

Superintendent's house: red brick with stone first-floor cill-band.

Paired bracketted eaves to Swithland slate shallow-pitched hipped roof with end stack to left and rear stack to right. Two storeys; irregular fenestration on both floors with gauged heads and wide canted bay on ground floor to left. Half-glazed door with pentice-hood to right of centre. Attached to rear of Police Station at right by high wall of exercise yard and outbuildings.

Magistrate's court: red brick with paired bracketted eaves cornice to hipped Swithland slate roof with ball-finials and central lead-covered louvred cupola with concave-sided pyramidal roof and weather-vane.

Single storey; five window front, tall wooden cross casements. Doors in recessed porches to left and right, marked 'PUBLIC ENTRANCE' over left-hand door and 'POLICE ENTRANCE' over right-hand door. Moulded stone-dressed surrounds with inscriptions over. Low brick towers to left and right behind porches with brick and stone banding above, topped by recessed blind crenellations and small leaded domes.

Attached to rear of Police Station at left by low range of buildings with slate roof. Interior. Court room retains original oak seating and dado panelling, with central dock, with turned baluster rails, and raised area for magistrates
