HAPPISBURGH LIGHTHOUSE LANE TG 33 SE 5/40 Happisburgh Lighthouse and Lighthouse Cottages - II

Lighthouse and 2 keepers' cottages. 1791. Painted and rendered brick. 5 storeys of tapering circular section, each storey separated by string course and each painted alternately red and white. Entrance door to west.

Segmental-headed windows to alternate storeys. Gallery to east side immediately below glazed lantern stage. Tower set between 2 square single storey cottages, each of 2 bays each side. Rendered and colourwashed brick with roofs either concrete tiles (No. 1) or slate (No. 2). Pilasters to corners and centre of each side separating sash windows with glazing bars and keystones. Internal passageway from each leads into tower and opens to exterior through square-headed door. Double hipped roofs with twin-flued stacks to each.
