2/4 Eagle Farmhouse with left bay of Eagle Cottage

House, right-hand bay now separate dwelling. Early - mid C18 with mid C19 refenestration. Red and brown small bricks in random bond with header courses, pantile roof. 3-cell lobby-entry plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the third bay now incorporated into Eagle Cottage, rear outshut. Plain board door between bays 1 and 2. 4-pane sashes in flush wood architraves with stone sills and wooden lintels throughout. Dentilled eaves cornice, coping to right end, ridge stacks and one above entrance. Rear: C20 alterations include dormer window projecting from outshut, centre. Left return: 4-pane sash to ground floor left, small side-sliding sash above, blocked 2-light brick-mullion window first floor right. Interior: central room has large fireplace with chamfered mantel-beam and stepped chamfer stops. Spine beam visible in ground-floor rooms. 0riginal dog-leg staircase in rear room,the turned balusters slightly bulbous at base, tapering to finely-moulded collars. Roof trusses - timbers of large scantling forming simple A-frame, the collars halved into the principals. The building was undergoing extensive restoration at the time of resurvey.
