BERWICK ST. JAMES HIGH STREET SU 03 NE (east side) 3/4 Bean Mill GV II Corn mill on River Till. Early C19. Flint and clunch with brick dressings, Welsh slate roof. Two-storey, 2-windowed; casements.

Two segmental brick arches over river on south side, with brick keystones, ground floor has planked door, 2-light and single-light cast-iron casements. West gable has planked doors to ground, first and attic floors. East gable has planked door, 2-light cast-iron casement to first floor and single-light casement to attic.

Interior retains working cast-iron water wheel, currently used to pump water supply from a bore, some of gearing retained, though disconnected, first floor retains one grinding stone and attic floor retains wooden grain hoppers in situ. One of a series of mills on the Till and Wylye Rivers, those in this area erected by the Wilton Estate.
