GV II

Hotel. Mid C18 with early C19 and later alterations. Stucco with painted stone dressings and graduated stone slate roof. Three storeys, five slightly irregular bays. Ground floor altered in early C19. Plinth. Central segmental arched entrance with bead moulded edge and double doors, set in wide squat pilastered surround with bracketed hood. To either side wide bow windows on rendered plinths, with stone sills. three curved 12-pane sashes to each window in pilastered surrounds below moulded cornices. First-floor ashlar sill band. Five plate-glass sashes in moulded architraves, with projecting stone sills. Dentilled timber cornice with C18 hopper head below to either side. Stone copings on moulded stone kneelers.
