Description

The carvings show, on the left, the head of Christ wearing a crown and surrounded by the handkerchief which was supposedly used by St Veronica to wipe Christ's brow, and on the right the Five Holy or Sacred Wounds which Christ suffered during the Crucifixion. The carving is now positioned above the vestry door.
