Please be aware that the majority of research was commissioned by English Heritage before the organisation split and the statutory function became Historic England. The name English Heritage will be used in research reports and publications. Social and Economic Research is part of Historic England and research will continue to be commissioned by the new organisation.
European Union funding for England's historic environment
In order to understand more fully the potential implications of withdrawal from the European Union on funding provision for heritage in England, Historic England commissioned Euclid International to find out how much money from EU sources has been invested in England’s heritage between 2007 and 2016. Eucilid’s report provides this information and Historic England is now using it as an evidence base on which to develop its advice to government on potential funding arrangements following withdrawal from the EU.
Survey of opinions about conservation areas
This document summarises the findings from the two Conservation Area surveys which were open to Civic Voice and IHBC members between 11 November and 5 December 2016.
