Church of St John the Baptist, Church Lane, Chilcompton - Mendip

Parish church dating from the C15 much rebuilt in the C19. The nave north parapet has been secured, and there was a significant problem in the eastward parts of the building which had severe frost damage to limestone copings and string courses and further problems with poor walling stone and pointing. Some very significant boundary wall repairs are required. Interior decorations have been damaged by water ingress, now largely under control. A Listed Places of Worship Roof Repairs Grant awarded in 2015 has enabled most work to be completed.
