Birnbeck Pier, Weston-Super-Mare - North Somerset (UA)

Main pier connecting Birnbeck Island to the mainland below the Prince Consort Gardens. Discussions are on-going between the Local Planning Authority, Historic England and other interested parties about the future of the pier with enforcement action actively under consideration. Storms and the weather continue to cause damage to the main pier which is now too dangerous to walk over or under. The North Jetty has suffered a partial collapse and consent has been granted to demolish much of the structure. The further threat of Heritage crime to the structure has resulted in recent prosecution.
