1/127 Easton Court Farmhouse
GV II Farmhouse, late medieval and C17, rubble stone partly roughcast,
with stone-tiled roofs, one-and-a-half storeys. Long east-west
range with wing running south and further cross-wing at west end,
parallel to road. Recessed chamfered mullion windows. East-west
range to rear has 3-window south front, three 2-light windows
above, 2-light, door, 2-light, door and 3-light below. East end
stack. Slate-roofed verandah on 3 crude Ionic columns, probably
early C17 and reused. South-west wing has ridge and outside south
end stacks, 2 dormer gables with 3-light windows to east, over C20
three-light, door, and single light. Three-light window to right
with dormer over. Hoodmoulds to 3-light windows. West side, to
road, has 2 dormer gables, two 3-light windows with hoodmoulds to
each floor and central door, windows are recessed chamfered to
left, ovolo-moulded to right, one a C20 replacement. West end
range has north end stack, south end 3-light windows to each floor
and blank 2-light to attic, all with hoodmoulds, similar window to
each floor on west side, but mullions removed on ground floor and
similar window to east end ground floor.
Interior: East-west range is said to be C15 or earlier open-hall
house with cruck truss, south-west wing, possibly late C16, has
Tudor-arched south end fireplace and recessed arched stone wash-
basin in axial passage. House belonged to Hulbert family c1560-
